[◐] background

AgroPermaLab is a foundation dedicated to education in agroecology, permaculture and resilient food systems. It promotes urban farms, organic gardening and short food chains.

Although the foundation is based in Poland, lately its members are forging more and more new international partnerships and creating many interesting materials in partnership with sister organizations around the world.

[◑] Objectives

The growth of the organization and new collaborations required the organization to create a new website that would become their showcase and help expand their network.

In addition, the goal of the site was to inform users about new projects and also aggregate educational materials and content previously posted mainly on social media and the YT channel.

The challenge, however, was not only to arrange the content appropriately, but above all to break the convention typical of environmental education organizations, whose trademark is the green color and botanical graphics.

[●] my role

In this project, I was responsible for both the creation of the site's visual identity, UI and design. I worked closely with the UX designer and, after a consultation process, created a concept for the site that takes into account all the users’ needs.

The site is clear yet interesting, which I owe to the color palette. Orange and violet enliven the project and differentiate it from typical eco-clishés. Simple, almost technical font and the background resembling a sheet of notebook paper bring to mind the lessons of nature, while the abstract plant forms refer to edible flowers pasted into a herbarium.
